Whispered Wanderings

Sad without tangible reason
tears threaten but never come
lonely for something I’ve forgotten
for something I no longer know.
This need to run away is strong
open a map close my eyes poke a pin
then drive there, start a new life
invent a mysterious new name.
Wear dark sunglasses and
expensive silk scarves, dance down the street
like Miley Cyrus in that video
most of all never look back
