Whispered Wanderings

It’s true, that my degree
is not in poetry.
This allows me to be free
to find my sovereignty…
to be a simple devotee
of expressing sadness or beauty.
I practice word mixology,
when my soul is feeling thirsty
for connection, or to see
if my words could ever be
 a bridge to what I seek:
 my personal mystique.
