Whispered Wanderings

One with the night, I walk alone
I beg of the stars: erase my fears
erase my tears
as nothing on earth can do…
then leave me with only love
to fill my heart.

And still I walk
keep pace with my shadow that floats
aimlessly beside me in the moonlight:
A version of me that will not have fears
that cannot have tears…

Part of me, yet
a part that I can never become,
no matter how far into the night
I walk.
