Whispered Wanderings

A Perfect Calm

Joy bigger than worry
finds me in a peculiar place…
Unsure what to do with it
I purposefully surrender
into acceptance.

Unfamiliar territory, this;
like an overly-cautious feral kitten
tentatively exploring
its newly-adopted home,
I begin to sniff the air here.
Oops, there’s an unexpected smile.
And oh, now there’s a laugh escaping!

Curious where I am though,
what is this place,
this joyful calm, this
happiness inside?

I think I’ll redesign my map
to include this as a new
destination
in case I wander off and need
to find it back again…
