Whispered Wanderings

A bit of silliness today. Warranted, I think.

Daydream

Instead of going to the dentist today,
I drove my car right past:
“You’ll never catch me!” my rally cry
while accelerating fast.

Instead I went to the county fair
and feasted on their wares
And laughed at all the teenagers
accepting each other’s dares.

I rode a roller coaster then
high up into the clouds
And screamed as we descended back
down among the crowds.

I fed a unicorn some oats
as he wandered by.
But then a fairy stole my bag
while the unicorn gave a sigh.

But then a Martian zipped his craft
behind me suddenly!
I didn’t know quite what to think,
as I watched him indulgently.

“…. Karen? Karen?” I heard my name
and shook myself aware
Stood up and admitted “Here I am”
as they led me to the dentist’s chair…
