Today’s prompt, Sonnet Sunday, is to write a sonnet, keeping in general to the theme of love. I stuck with a pretty traditional type. It may not obviously be about love, but I assure you it is – it’s about the self-love that comes from working through your “Stuff”.
Learning To Fly
Been down this road so many times before;
yet every time, arriving somewhere new.
This landscape draws me inward to explore
the things I miss upon my passing through.
The problem may just be, that I won’t stay
within each destination. I must leave,
pack up my heart and quietly run away,
before it learns it wants to just believe.
Arriving at a new location now
I ponder on the possibility
of staying just this once. Can I allow
this holding of tender fragility?
The only way I’ll know is if I try;
And letting go, I trust, and learn to fly.
