Shadow Work

Face to face again
my Shadow and me
Those things about my Self
I don’t want to see.

Been here before
but always ran away…
So uncomfortable
I just couldn’t stay.

But along with age comes
the wisdom to know
this Shadow also holds
my ability to grow.

So with courage anew
I look into my soul
at the light and the dark:
as I become whole.
